Hot Rod Hounds just hosted the Tune to Reliant 2011 tournament. What a great weekend!!! The team pulled together and put on an awesome tournament. The dogs did great and the humans weren’t too bad either. HRH regular, aka Motor Mouths, placed a respectful third and set a new best team time of 19.021. HRH open (Over Howlin) took second in their dividion. Congrats to Shiner who earned his Flyball Master Champion title (15,000 points), Mayday earned his Flyball Master title (5,000 points), and June earned her Flyball Dog Champion title (500 points) and set a personal best time of 4.7.

Hot Rod Hounds will be competing in the Let Freedom Run tournament held during the Reliant World Series of Dog shows July 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.

HRH had another great weekend racing. Three dogs earned titles. Bea made FMX(10k), Zila made FDCH-S(1k), and June madeFDX(100). We took first place with our open team and we loaded our fast dogs listed on the regular team and make a new team time of 18.9. The team was started by Bindy, then Shiner, Bea, and anchored by Mayday. With a couple tighter passes and attempting a race other than the last race of the weekend, we might just make it lower.

This past weekend HRH competed in Daiquiri Dawg Daze tournament in Huntsville.

Friday night the HRH Hooch Hounds took first place and set a team best time of 19.4 seconds and Bindy set her best time of 3.9 seconds.

The teams didn’t fair so well over the weekend with the regular team placing fourth and the open team placing last after breaking out three times. Finishing last because you were too fast for the division isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Congrats to Bindy on earning her Flyball Dog Champion Silver (FDCHS 1,000 pts) and Zila on earning Flyball Dog Champion (FDCH 500 pts.).

Our next adventure takes us back to Huntsville for the Shamrock Showdown V tournament, March 5th and 6th.

Don, Michele, Malena, Crystal, Jon, Lyn, Yancy, and Paula from TMI traveled to Grand Junction, CO for the Party for all Dogs tournament. This was our first tournament outside on grass and we had a blast! The weather was great and the location was awesome.

Hot Rod Hounds Fantastic Fur (it was a super hero theme) consisting of Zen (TMI), Shiner, Riley, Sizzle, and when we needed a lil extra speed, Bea took 2nd on Saturday and First on Sunday. Hot Rod Hounds Hong Kong Phooies made up of Tomba, India/Zila, Bea, Mayday, and Shiner when a little stability was needed, placed 5th both days. The Phooies started out a little rough but were running like champs by the end of the weekend.

No titles were earned but everyone had a great time.

Another great weekend of racing has passed. Congratulations to our “green dogs” who did awesome! Their humans should be very proud. HRH regular team came home with 1st place and HRH open brought home a 3rd place. Not bad considering half the team had never run in a tournament.

Mayday earned his FDCHG (2,500), Zila earned FDX (100 pts), India and Bindy earned FD and FDX (25/100pts), and our sweet little June earned her first 5 points of many to come! Special Congratulations to Sir Buddy and Laura on earning Buddy’s FDX title. He is a true inspiration to us all.

Hot Rod Hounds also came away with the Human Flyball trophy! Congratulations to Randy, James, Jon and Kim from TMI on taking the title!
